Letter to the Editor: What’s wrong with recycling newspapers?

December 3, 2004
Editor: While I may not be as gung-ho about recycling as some, I am astonished by the lack of foresight from the student leadership regarding their endeavors. Summer In Abaddon Pinback Touch And Go Records Four and a half out of five stars Even before the album starts spinning, the juxtaposed theme of Pinback's latest release, Summer In Abaddon, is already making noises. Sure, Abaddon sounds like a nice place to spend all that summer vacation time, but as translated, Abaddon is actually a Hebrew word referring to a place of eternal damnation.

Girls’ night out or ‘Girls Gone Wild?’

December 1, 2004
Dear Danni, I'm a gay man who has recently come out and I have been taking one of my best "girl friends" to the bars with me. She is one of the cutest, funniest and all-around great gals I know. However, whenever we go out she tends to get really, really drunk.

Police report: November mischief

December 1, 2004
A crazy way to spend turkey day A man spent part of his Thanksgiving in the math lab between the Cowles and Widsoe buildings of Presidents' Circle discharging a fire extinguisher, collecting markers and phone and computer cables. Police met the "troubled, rambling" individual at the scene.
